Lose weight: 10 tips on how to do it well!
How to lose weight? This is probably the most frequent question for someone who has always tried to become fit.
To lose weight we usually try magical diets which allow us to lose „5 kg in a week” but most of these diets cause only loss of water and immediate yo-yo effect after finishing it. Now, after Christmas we hear this question even more often! The reason for this is really simple- we just couldn’t resist our moms’ spaghetti but what is Christmas without a bit of indulgence…;)
I prepared for you 10 tips how to approach dieting in a healthy way, to lose weight and change our lifestyle.
- First of all, be reasonable! You have to realise that neither it is possible to lose „10 kg in 3 days” and nor it is healthy. Eat rationally. Try the rule of small steps, don’t change all your nutritional habits immediately.
- To succeed you need to take your time- I advise you to stop for a moment and think about what is wrong in your diet ( list your sins-really!). Only then try to introduce and change each point from your diet. Here are some examples: start with breakfast, eat at regular times , choose good quality products and proper quantity.
- Do not get caught in a trap of cleansing diets and fasting. These kinds of diets should be supervised by a specialist. Most often they lead to excessive appetite which may end up with the opposite effect of yo-yo, faced by many women.
- Hydrate! Drink natural water every day, even a small amount before each meal will help you control your appetite and prevent overeating. What is more it affects the body’s hydration and firmness of the skin.
- Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables. Both of these groups of products are perfect to prepare nutritious coctails, juices and smoothies but not only. They are also great source of vitamins and minerals, they light up our skin, take care of its colour and smoothness and also provide the appropriate dose of fibre, which will also help in the fight against unnecessary kilograms. Fibre provides us with a feeling of satiety- delays gastric emptying, regulates blood sugar levels, lowers total cholesterol level, blood pressure, helps with constipation and removing harmful substances from our digestive tract.
- Don’t forget about pulses and enriching your diet with whole grain products like flour, bread, rice and pasta. It is scientifically proven that diet which is rich in this kind of products helps with weight loss, glycemic control and reduces body mass index as well as waist circumference.
- Limit the intake of sweets and alcohol – don’t forget that these products are the source of empty calories!
- Avoid salt! Use spices and herbs instead.
- If you want to show off your beautiful silhouette in 2017, don’t forget about physical activity. Remember to adjust exercises to your capabilities, sex and age. The more muscles you have, the more calories you are able to burn. Even a simple walk will stimulate the metabolism after Christmas motionless in front of the TV. For those who are more trained I advise to try „HIIT” workout which is the most efficient type of workout to burn fat and prevent muscle loss;)
- Let’s think positive! This essential principle should be followed whenever we decide to change something in our lifes. Try to set realistic goals first, do not find excuses and justifications –believe that you are able to change something in your life.
